WEAVE project

(Women's Empowerment Against  Violence in Elections)

The WEAVE Project is a Koyoka initiative focused on documenting and amplifying the voices of women survivors of violence, while linking these narratives to support services and advocacy efforts.

As part of the project, Koyoka conducted interviews with women survivors to better understand their experiences and the challenges they face. This documentation resulted in two short documentaries, which can be viewed on this page. The project followed a survivor-centered approach throughout. Participants were connected to psychosocial services to support trauma recovery, and Koyoka partnered with relevant organizations to provide legal aid where necessary.

Findings from the WEAVE Project were also shared with political leaders and decision-makers within the participants’ jurisdictions, helping to bring survivor experiences into discussions around policy, protection, and accountability.

The WEAVE Project seeks to ensure that survivor voices are heard, supported, and connected to meaningful action.
